On first glance, how would you pronounce this character's surname:
Craig Rhodin
Short "o" sound: (Rod-in)
Long "o" sound: (Rode-in)
It seems to me that a lot of my beta readers are mispronouncing this name, although it is correct as spelled (I know because an ex-boyfriend of mine had this surname, and his name was pronounced the same as my character's). I know in the grander scheme of things I probably have much bigger fish to fry with this novel, but still, it's a little irritating to hear so many readers mispronounce the name. Just out of curiosity, I wanted to see which of the above pronounciations most of you go with, on first glance. Later, after I've gauged the results, I'll let you know which is my correct (or intended) pronounciation, and maybe you guys can help me figure a way to better cue readers to the intended pronounciation.
