I happened upon the "Bewares" board while trying to research an agent. It took me quite a while before I ever realized there were other boards with other topics. But here goes:

My name is Tammy. I am 36 years old and have been writing forever. I just recently decided to seriously write. I have entered a few poetry contests. They must have been legit because I won third place in one... years ago. And the other gave everyone a free copy of the book they went into. Thank God I never heard of Poetry.com or any other poetry scammers because I am usually a naive and trusting person.

I recently was in the big scam of Janet Kay and Associates... She was the first agent I ever approached, actually. Boy did I get a rough lesson in the writing world!!

I write poetry, of course and I write young children's books and young adult books. Mostly adventure/fantasy stuff with a little survivalist stuff thrown in.

My biggest hobby is studying emergency preparedness and wilderness survival. Which I practice on a regular basis in my everyday life with my family. Which consists of my husband of over 16 years, our 15 year old son and many various animal friends.

I live in West Virginia, on a mountain, in a tiny community in the middle of nowhere. Yep, I'm a proud hillbilly!!! lol I live on a small (very small) farm and we also have a kennel and raise cockerspaniel and shiba inu dogs. I also do some handmade crafts here and there.

Anyway that is me... I am glad to be a part of this board where I have learned so much and hope to continue to learn. Thanks for listening and for making me feel welcomed.

~~Tammy

Glad to see ya here. I'm not a hillbilly, but I'm a close cousin. You got it. I'm a redneck girl. (I live in suburbia, so it takes me out of the hillbilly running.)

It's nice to meetcha. See ya round the boards.:b

Thanks Frank,

Just love that word "OLD".

Like my 15 year old doesn't throw it at me enough...

"Mom, you're so old," he rolls eyes.
"Do you have to be so old in your way of thinking?"
"This is the 21st century, Mom"
"Why do you do things so old-fashioned?"

Anyone want a 15 year old to liven up their life?? Good price here!!:rofl :ha
