Hi everybody! I'm not exactly a newbie to writing, but I'm a newbie to everybody here. :) I've been lurking for a loooooong time but was lured into the light when Jenna created the Writing about Animals board (oops, can't remember if that's the right title or not, but you know what I'm talking about).

I've been writing for a number of years, and full time since 2000. My book, THE CONURE HANDBOOK (Barron's Educational Series, Inc.), was released last month and I'm thrilled! I also write for a print trade mag (pet related), lots of inspirational stuff, magazine articles on various topics, and some fiction.

Anyway, it's great to be here! Nice to meetchall!

Hiya Anne--I had a conure for a couple of years and he would bite the living daylights out of me every chance he got. Finally I gave him to a friend who works at an exotic animal vet and he's very happy and doesn't bite any more. Although I don't stick my hand in front of him, either. Go figure.

Mac, conures do have wicked sharp beaks! I know this from personal experience. And they don't like for you to type when they're sitting on your lap. Owww!
