Hi. I'm new. I was just directed here, and boy am I glad! It looks like a GREAT set of message boards. I'm sure I'll have loads of fun. My name is E.G. Gammon. I am currently developing a novel series, to be released independently. In terms of how famous I am... 2 published poems... but, hopefully my series will launch my career. Thanks for reading this far...

Hi EG,

Welcome aboard. I'm an older newbie! Fell in love with this place myself. It's the definitive all inclusive hands down winner as far as writing groups go. I've deserted my other groups because they seemed to be stuck in slow gear and on a dirt road to nowhere. I think this site is going to produce some future celebs, if it hasn't already.
Just began a non-fiction book called "Valley of the Mastodons."
Keep that positive attitude around here. EVERYONE needs shots of that medicine.

Welcome to the water cooler, EG. Triceratops touches on one of the great things about AW, the caliber of the members. We have numerous published authors here including our founder, Jenna, as well as an astonishing variety of aspiring fiction and non-fiction writers. You couldn't ask for a better mix. Enjoy!

I find the gender ambiguity of your name to make this quite a confusing post to reply to. I mean, do I say, "Hey baby!" or "What's up dude, I'll take a Killian's."

Welcome to the board from another mostly newbie! Hope you find as much as you hope.

EGGammon

Thank you all for your warm welcomes! This place is much better than all the boards I've been to before. I can't wait to dive into the discussions!

(By the way, I'm a guy...) :)

Hello EG,

I'm from VA myself (Norfolk), although I have recently transplanted to GA. Nice to see you here.

I'm new too, but loving it already.

I was born in Norfolk! How odd. But I only lived there from birth to age 5 and don't remember it that much.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

EG,

I was born and raised there. Would you happen to know what area of Norfolk your family lived in?

Where in VA are you now?

I'm not completely sure what area in Norfolk, but all I know is we lived on Dover Court Road. Ever heard of it? Now, we live in South Central Virginia, right next to the NC border (I'd tell you what city, but you never know who will see this).

When did you live in Norfolk?

msQTpi

EG,

I don't remember Dover Court Rd, but then Norfolk is pretty big. I grew up in Norview and Ocean View and moved to GA when I got married. We have moved back and forth a few times.
We just moved back in July and this time it's for good, I hope. I love VA, but have come to hate moving. That happens when you marry a Navy Man. (Eighteen homes in twenty-three years.)
