Narchy
Hey all. Been here for a few days, just poking around and getting to know what's where and who's who. It took me a while, but I finally figured it was about time for me to stick my head up and say hello to everyone.
I've been writing for several years now, but only recently decided to kick myself in the butt and take it seriously. Back in school, my writing teacher had always told me that I should attempt to get some of my work published, but I was very self-conscious and had a horrible habit of second-guessing everything that I wrote. I shudder now, to think what promising projects ended up in the trash, due to my inner voice telling me that I couldn't do it.
I didn't attempt publication until I was in my late twenties but, after a few rejections and a lot of wound-licking, I finally had some poetry published in a quarterly journal, for which I received 2 copies and a $1 bill. While many scoff at small markets, I absolutely love them; it was just what I needed, to suddenly give me the 'writer's bug.'
From there on in, I began to write anything and everything; newspaper editorials, music reviews, movie reviews. My first computer opened me up to a whole new world and I soon became addicted to everything from ezine publications to writing web content. Without a doubt, I am thoroughly hooked
Now, I write about anything that tickles my fancy. Despite living in Florida, I swear my tan comes from the glow of my monitor where I sit and happily type away, Yoohoo before me and my little rat perched on my shoulder.
Glad to have found you guys!
