Just a quick note to make ourselves known. We've been scouring the internets for a place like this and are so happy we may have found it.

*fingers crossed*

We enjoyed reading one of the threads about writers becoming their characters. That is what happened to us. We created an online persona (Liz) to flesh out one of our characters. And bingo . . . we have become her in virtually all of our personal writing.

Unfortunately, Liz has the tedious habit of speaking in the royal 'we.' We hope you don't find it too distracting.

In real life, we're a middle aged man with a successful career in business writing. Ghosting business books, marketing materials, public relations, speeches, etc. We just finished our first novel and are methodically looking for an agent. One possible agent is reading it now. We've just finished the first ten chapters of our second book. And are musing about our third.

We work in isolation from real contact with people and have gotten more comfortable than we probably should with a virtual existence.

PS Our icon is a piece of 'gourd art' -- which is what we do with our hands when our brain gives out from too much writing.

Welcome aboard Liz.
I hope the novel pans out for you. Keep chin up and keep submitting. You'll really like it here

Glad you're here, Liz. Queen Bess is one of my favorite historical figures.

Welcome to the Cooler, Liz. The current Queen Elizabeth is one of my favorite hysterical figures. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Quick note to add my hello. I noticed that we have a lot in common. An agent is looking at the first 50 of my novel and I just started chap 10 of the sequel this afternoon. The agent search is the worst part of it all. I also do gourd art and paintings with acrylics. My actual job is way different than yours as I work at a Dam on the Snake River. Anyway, have a good one.

Re: Re:Hello

Wow! We're the same person! We'd love to work on a dam on the Snake River.

Isn't waiting the HARDEST thing? We just want to call them up and say, 'Hey you. This is a life your dawdling with. Get to work and send us a contract!'

Of course, we never do that. We just thrum our fingers (when they're not crossed) and keep on writing.

Thanks for making yourself known.
