You can check under mainstream fiction through Duotrope.com.

What else is going on in your stories besides sports? Most short fiction markets are either genre or literary...so to sell, I'm thinking you might have to have that 'ahhhh' moment of lit, or make them inspirational for children, or place them in space, or add some angels, or make the hero and heroine get together...what I'm trying to say is, if you can't find a market, maybe there isn't one.

No link for that yet, Wesley. I just go around and mention it every chance I get. A while back I started a thread to rally support for a Sports Forum, but it was swallowed by a black hole from which it was never recovered. I'll start another thread soon, as I feel strongly that such a forum would benefit AW.

Ironically, I care very little for most sports. But there are so many different kinds of sports, each with their varied brands of publications, that it's an area rife with opportunities for writers. If we had the proper arena to gather information, it could be shared among the community, and the forum would become a valuable asset to many members.

I hadn't thought about it like that, King, but I bet you're right. If sportswriting were considered a seperate genre, I bet it'd be huge, at least right now. But since the vast majority of sportswriting falls neatly into other established catagories, like history, memoir and such, I'm not sure that a sports-specific forum or genre is needed.

By the way, Siddow, I checked out Duotrope yesterday, and that is an awesome resource. I added it to my favorites list, and I'll be using the next time I submit a short story.
