Should a submission that will be attributed to a pseudonym be submitted under the non de plume, or should it be submitted under a real name writing as the pseudonym?

For example:

The Dark of Night by Jim Fright

or

The Dark of Night by John Smith writing as Jim Fright

(All names and titles have been changed to protect the guilty :D )

Thanks!

You simply put your real name in the upper oeft hand corner, just as you would with any submission. You then type the pseudonym you want to use beneath the title.

The editor will then publish the story under the pseudonym, and send you the check in your real name. In other words:

This is how one of my buds sends things in. She's got six pen names and counting.

Great Expectorations

Jane Smith

She signs her own name in all her mails & contracts, and that's what goes on the upper left corner of p. 1 on the MS.

The headers on each page of the MS have the book title and her pen name.

The publishers/agents need the name that goes with her Social Security number. :)
