I write as part of a trio, all first-time authors. Do you think editors prefer a pen-name for a multiple-author project involving unknowns? Or is that something that should not concern the author, being more of a marketing issue once the book is accepted? (Think positive: accepted, yeah!)

I tend to be leery of collaborations, even when they involve authors I like, and am less likely to pick up the book than one with a single name as author.

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll stop obsessing about it and find something else to obsess about. Not that it will be hard, for me...

What kind of collaboration is it: a novel, short story collection, etc.?

It started as a plan for a big novel of about 1000 pages, then seemed to be evolving into a trilogy, then expanded into a quartet...

I'm not sure what it will end up being. Likely a trilogy, once we've gone through and pruned the wild prose.

But it's sure a lot of fun!
