Ok ok, so I know it takes a long time to respond to prospective authors. But just how long is "too long?" Over a year-and-a-half ago, I sent out query letters then waited and then several months later received a favorable reply requesting sample chapters. I sent the requested materials promptly then waited several months before I called them to ask what was going on? At that time the agent told me that she did not realize I had submitted an autobiography and could I please send her a book proposal which I then prepared and sent. It is now many months later and I have heard nothing. What should I do, stick it out or look for another agent who is not so pokey?
