How concerned should I be that someone not be able to recognize a real person in a novel that is 90% fiction, and 10% based on non-historical, actual events?
In this case, the person is portrayed honestly and in a good light, but might be embarrassed to have others discover that she is the inspiration for a main character. Changing her character, or the real events too much would seriously detract from the story, so I hate to do it. That said, I'd hate to embarrass her, or face legal action.
