Okay, I'm not really sure where to put this, but a close family friend's birthday is coming up in July (she'll be turning 12) her and I have always been very close (despite our 9 yr. age difference) and she's recently gotten into doing a lot of writing. She's even let me read a few of her short stories and they've been very good. She told me she really likes my writing and I was thinking that it would be fun, as a birthday gift, to write a couple of short stories with her as the main character, and then get it bound through Lulu (as it would be a one-time project) and then give it to her for her birthday.
I just wondered if anybody has ever tried this and if so, what were your responses? I've given friends and family members poetry as gifts and they've always enjoyed them, as they are personalized especially for them, but I enjoy writing fiction much more than poetry. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
