I am new to this site, I stumbled upon it, you all have answered so many of my questions already. I have had a great offer from Whitmore publishing. But I am hearing nothing but bad about them.
1. why are the not recommended.
2. who is good for therapeutic children's books.

They are a vanity press, a branch of Dorrence.
As far as your second question, I would suggest picking up a copy of the Children's Writers and Illustrators market. The 2006 edition should be at your local library in the reference section. Take paper and pen. You're going to spend some time there. Page through and write down all the publishers that look like they'd fit your book. Then research each on the web to make sure the information is still current (the book is put together in June of the previous year) and submit.

It is also a good idea to look at the therapeutic children's book on the market right now and see who is publishing them. It's important market research ANYWAY to be fully aware of what is out there in your field...and takes only slightly more time to note the publisher when you are reading the books anyway.
Then, armed with that list...the Children's Writers and Illustrators Market will be much easier to navigate because you'll already know the publishers who HAVE published in that field and are successful enough to make a bookstore presence.

You can send a submission to them but most likely you will hear back from an expensive publishing company that is POD. I have yet to see a book out published by them. Maybe it is me but certainly please do not go with PublishAmerica. You will be sorely disappointed if you do.

Welcome.
With all due respect, if your site is indicative of your writing, you're not ready for a publisher. It's rife with typos and grammatical errors.

Thank you!
I have very bad grammar and editing skills. So why try to Write
I can not stop thinking about it, I have this passion that pushes me forward.
A drive that inspiers. A dream to inspire others. Every thing I see touch and smell brings inspiration of a new story. I am taking Many courses in school to help me with these issues. My site is only a place to practice, why post such bad stuff, for comments like yours. I have a new story on the site now.

Since you're taking classes, see if some the students would be willing to form a critique group. They'd probably catch the spelling and grammar errors for you.

Excellent idea, Inspired. For a children's book should be a shining example of good grammar and English usage. After all, if we authors don't model good language to children, how are they to learn? It is imperative that children's literature be free of grammatical and spelling errors.

Who is it?
I'm curious, because that is awfully fast.

Whitmore (the legitimate company) went out of business in the early 'nineties. The current "Whitmore" still lists that old Whitmore's titles as if they were their own -- but the current Whitmore had nothing to do with publishing those titles.
The current Whitmore has a publishing model identical to PublishAmerica's, with this difference: Whitmore's advance is ten times higher.
I too am curious as the name of your new publisher.
