Howdy, all -- I've been remiss in posting this (between packing up to move to a new house and being sick with the flu).
A new contest, from WILD CHILD:
Fairytale Contest
Wild Child is accepting submissions for our fairytale contest. Eight winners will be chosen and featured in our June issue. WE WILL BEGIN ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS ON March 6, 2006. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY MAY 10, 2006. Winners will receive a $25 PRIZE. WINNERS MAY CHOOSE TO ACCEPT PAYMENT AS EITHER AS A CHECK (FOR US RESIDENTS), AN INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDER (FOR RESIDENTS OUTSIDE THE US), OR AN AMAZON GIFT CERTIFICATE.
Contest rules:
Write an original, or retold, fairytale OF NO MORE THAN 2,500 WORDS. (If retold, you MUST include the title of the original fairytale within the submission.)
The fairytale must include:
A PROTAGONIST (either male or female, magical or not, human or not)
The STORY MUST INCLUDE A CHARACTER THAT EITHER USES MAGIC (FOR EXAMPLE, A SORCERER) OR IS MAGICAL ITSELF (FOR EXAMPLE, A UNICORN).
The submission must be an original work belonging to the person submitting it and NOT PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED (EITHER IN PRINT OR ON THE WEB).
Have fun and be creative. We want outlandish, wild tales with enough realism to make us think this might actually be possible somewhere.
Submissions accepted between: March 6 - May 10, 2006. Send your submissions to: [email protected]
Winners will be chosen by the editors of Wild Child Publishing.com AND WILL BE CONTACTED BY EMAIL NO LATER THAN MAY 20, 2006. PAYMENT WILL BE MADE NO LATER THAN JUNE 30, 2006.
