'course, were SF and Fantasy separated, I've no doubt that a forum devoted to hard SF would languish with, oh, one or two posts per ...

Yeah, I did kinda take over that thread somewhat...I hope no one minded too much. And yeah too, SF and Fantasy go well together. It's just that I think a Fantasy forum would survive all on its own, but a hard SF forum might not. This topic was discussed at length early on in the beginnings of our forum.

Personally, I'm a hard SF nut. Love space opera, time travel, warp drive, future speculation. I don't really care much for swords and sorcerers and mythical beings like elves and dragons, but I do enjoy an occasional romp through a fantastical world that could never exist. But my likes and dislikes are completely personal; I don't purport to foist them on any of the rest of you. On the other hand, if any of you are SF nuts like me, I'm glad to go on and on till the wee hours of next year talking about it.
