I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Authors come and go, but one thing that doesn’t come along every day, is a buddy who’s been there, done that, so to speak. Someone has come along to guide me. And that’s why I am posting this thread.
I started working on my Novel about a year ago, and four months later, I finished the rough draft. When I had completed my book I started looking for a new read, one of the books that caught my eye was "The Crimson Sword", by debut author Eldon Thompson. I wrote him an e-mail asking for advice in the publishing world seeing as he had just released his first novel in a three part series, and we have been in contact ever since.
I've been reading "The Crimson Sword" for some time now, balancing my Military Lifestyle with writing and reading can be hectic, but I manage. But Eldon's e-mails keep coming. A simple "Hello, how’s it going" to "How to make the one line 'Log-Line' and more", even help with my Query letter!
I am a professional by trade, I do a highly specialized job that saves lives, and even in this Military I call life I rarely meet a person of this character, this class. (you would think that your nation;s defense has the best class possible, but thats another blog altogether)
Eldon's book is outstanding, and so is his attitude. I now hope that I can become the kind of insight to a young writer as Eldon has to me.
That made me love his book even more, perhaps you will too. Check it out; you may like it as well. www.eldonthompson.com
