Guest posts on blogs?

So with my new blog (on my website, listed below in my sig), I was open to maybe posting some guest blogs on various reading/writing topics. I've had one offer from someone here at AW.

Should the topic be wide open? Focused? Advice on this sort of thing?

Anyone interested in this, or perhaps a swap?

The topic should be relevant to both the guest blogger and your audience. For example, I've had a few guest posts this month pertaining to Halloween. I had a MG fantasy author write a guest post about her visit to the Harry Potter theme park. Basically, have the topic be interesting to your blog readers.

You also want the person to be familiar with your blog. I had a person do a drive by. She noticed a couple of posts about social media and wanted to do a guest blog on FB -- but it was pretty obvious in her email that she hadn't even read the blog.

It's your blog. You're the editor.
