I am sure this has come up before, but I didn't see it as a recent post, so I thought I'd throw it out there.
I'm a new author with a work of fiction coming out HOPEFULLY by the end of the year. I realize the importance of social media in any industry, and writing really is no different. So as a new author, should you ease yourself into it or just go nuts and throw yourself and/or the book out there on anything you can find? I know each bit is different and have different uses, but which ones would be really helpful for an author?
Facebook - obvious
Twitter? (I've rarely used it before)
LinkedIn? (tried to think of a practical use)
Tumblr? (never used it before)
Blog (have one set up on my new website that I'll be unveiling someday soon)
What else?
