I have an idea for a blog that I'd like to set up, but I'm a little concerned about the legal and ethical aspects of it.
I wouldn't have thought there'd be a problem, but a moderator here brought up something about some other blog a while ago (how's that for vagueness? if i can narrow it down, i will) - and now I'm not sure.
I was going to use a xyxyxy.blogspot.com address and use the blog as a place to mainly store links to articles that are interesting to me and might be interesting to others. Something like this:
Great article in "Local Newspaper" about ____ and her new _____. Talks about how she worked full-time and still found time to _____, while not neglecting other parts of her life. Here's the link: www.___.com
It would be of regional interest, and I wouldn't put ads on it or anything. I thought I'd have occasional new posts, and also some fixed tabs with notes about local organizations, events, fairs, etc. Anything mentioned would have a link attached.
Maybe do some short interviews in the future, but it would be mostly a gathering of other people's stuff. Like a small free online library.
I thought if I had links back to the original articles, then it would be ok copyright wise. But maybe not?
I've got the shell set up but am not proceeding until I get this sorted out. Don't want to violate copyright or even just violate acceptable standards. I want this to be a help to me and maybe some others.
