I know it's very imp[ortant to name your genre exactly in a submission, but I'm finding it difficult.
Finally, I've come to the conclusion that my script is a Thriller, which comes as a surprise to me as I never thought of myself as a thriller writer - but I'm also glad, because that gives it just a bit of an edge over Drama, which is the genre I was clinging to for too long.
Going a bit further, and researching a bit more, it seems that there are several kinds of thriller, and mine might just possibly be a suspense/thriller or suspense-thriller. Is this taking it a bit too far? Aren't ALL thrillers suspenseful? What exactly is a suspense-thriller, as opposed to other, more specific forms of thriller?
And I still like the idea of drama, as it indicates that the characters are as important as the plot. So, could I say "suspense-thriller, drama" or something like that?
OK, thats just me. Anybody else in doubt as to their EXACT genre?
