I've rewritten, reworded, and done just about everything I can think of to fix this sentence, but nothing seems to be working. I don't like it, and I don't have any idea about how to fix it. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Here's the premise: Flick, the MC, is about to "rejoin" with the spirit of the Mother, who is a goddess who has temporarily taken human form. The Mother's physical form is becoming a stone statue, and her "essence", if you will, is about to re-enter Flick:
