I've been weighing the idea of writing for content websites for a while, and fairly dubious about it because a) mixed reports as to their reliability and profitability, and b) I wasn't sure I had an applicable area of expertise that I could come up with original content for regularly enough.
So I had this idea that may change point b. I was going through some of my old files, reading my old university papers (English and Theatre), and I thought, if I edited some of these to be more general reviews/analyses of plays and books, rather than academic papers, it could be a useful resource to current students. I can remember writing papers when I really didn't know where to start, and having someone else's point of view would sometimes give me a jumping off point to get ideas flowing. The articles would be intended as a study aid.
The most obvious concern here is that lazy students would probably use this as a plagiarism source. I don't care so much for my own sake, but I don't want to enable academic dishonesty. On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with writing thoughtful discussion pieces, and it's not my fault what some unscrupulous kid decides to do with it.
So I was wondering if any content writers could help me out. Is there a place for this type of content? And if so, what site would you suggest I try? And if I were to get hits, is there any likelyhood of generating passive income this way (at least, enough to be worth it)?
