I sent a query out for my script "Worst Case Scenario". I just got a reply from them. They loved the synopsis and want to see the first 30 pages of the script. I'm very nervous at this point.

Julie Worth said:Look at their about & contact page, where you will find, "The Screenplay Agency is a part of the Literary Agency Group (LAG)."

Julie Worth said:You’ve a screenplay that isn’t written and an agency that isn’t legit. What do you think?
Midia said:Royale with Cheese, I hope you've had chance to research and read the various posts made on here and other sites about The Screenplay Agency. I had exactly the same reaponse as you did - loved my first screenplay and wanted to sign me up there and then. Thankfully I researched them before signing the contract and discovered that this company and all their many other companies are not agents in the true sense. They spent a week sending me emails along the lines of 'give us a chance, who are you going to believe most, us or a host of message boards who give us a bad name,' etc. When I pointed out that I always research a company before working with them and that in my experience, the one's who received bad press and were being investigated into, were the ones to avoid, they didn't email me again. I know it's disheartening and best of luck if you do decide to sign on the dotted line, but the majority of people who have dealt with these companies, all say the same thing - avoid them like the plague!
Royale With Cheese said:I appreciate everything but don't cut me down by saying I don't have a screenplay. I have three on the shelf and one 30 pages from being finished.
Julie Worth said:Sorry, I didn’t mean that the way it sounded. You’ve 40 pages of the one in question. You need probably 110-120. So it seems a little early to be putting out queries. Esp. to an agency that exists solely to take your money.
