Hi all, I'm new to the forum, and hope that this isn't presumptuous of me, but I'm looking for some opinions (well, opinions from people who aren't friends and don't feel obliged to be supportive) on this cover for an upcoming Novella of mine, set solely for digital release..

MisterBones2.jpg

The story's two MCs are a little girl/teen/woman named Abigail, and the monster of the piece, Mister Bones.

PS: I'm not sure if this is the right section to be asking this sort of question. If not, feel free to scold and redirect me :)

I really like the layout and the fonts you have going on here. The graphic, I feel like, might be able to be a little more intimidating. Perhaps the teeth could be sharper, or it could be a more enhanced image or something? I don't know. At any rate, this is an overall really cool cover!

Looks quite good. I agree with Ginger Writer on the topic of the graphic. And perhaps you can have all of the text be in the faded font and not just the title (it would add a little bit to the horrifying aesthetics of the cover)?

FOTSGreg hits the nail on the head when he says the text is going to be hard to read on a thumbnail.

Unless there's a good reason to keep the distressed title font I'd consider something else - it has an old-fashioned theatre 'playbill' look about it. It's also quite a tall font that limits the ways in which you can arrange the words. (I think both the title and sub are both very good by the way).

The picture is effective, but is there a cleaner copy? There seems to be a lot of filter distortion (this might be my imagination). Something sharper and more realistic could have greater impact.

Good luck.

Hey guys, thanks for the input... I've used some of the suggestions here, but not others, and have updated the cover a little (would have replied earlier, but I kinda forget that I posted this).
I'll put the updated version up a little later for second (or new first) opinions..

Thanks again all.
