Take a look at what AW short story writers are doing now!

I just read the first five stories, and, wow!

The 1000 to 1500 word short story - using a western theme - contest offered
by HarryHoskins brought different writers from all genres of AW, and is now looking
for ambitious readers to vote on the entries!

All of the entries are so good - an anthology is being considered!

Voting closes 11:59PM EST March 15th 2012.

The entries can be found here*
(password: vista)

Voting rules here.
Discussion thread here.
1-10 Scoring sheet here!

*If for any reason a link gives you trouble, go to the Water Cooler main page,
scroll down to the Share Your Work section (password: vista) then into Western,
and finally the top thread, Contest entries.

Here's what people have been saying about the entries:

I was amazed at the number of cross-genre entries. So many ideas I would never come up with in a million years.

If you need any confirmation that AW is full of fantastic writers, I suggest you go and start reading--all the stories are wonderful.

Such a wide range of imagination - it's impressive.

Out of curiosity, how did you decide who to PM with the same message? I'm fairly new so I highly doubt my name is already familiar to anyone on this large board. And while I've posted on the short story forum, but never on the western or poetry one.

That decision making process was flawed. My apologies.

*but the quality of writing in the contest entries is not flawed.
Those are some of the best short stories I've read in a long time:
a real testament to the talent found here.

Ah yes, I've come across the thread with complaints in the mean time. But as far as I'm concerned, you do not need to apologise, I didn't mind.

Just curious why me mostly. For a moment there I thought people were following me around to pounce the moment I browsed the poetry or short story forum.

But should I have some time to spare before the 15th, I'll definitely try to get a vote in.
