Since this week is Christma--I mean, Holiday Break for me, I'm going to Arcata (not Arcadia) in California. And after much inner-debate, I have decided not to work on my novel while I'm there. It's a hassle to upload it in the old man's laptop and I've always enjoyed the slower paper, anyways.
For this vacation (if drunken Portuguese elderly folk and screaming children can be called a party, I think it is) I've decided to maybe dabble in short fiction but mainly focus on poetry.

But what do you guys prefer? Do you bring your work with you? Or do you leave it at home, and sit back and relax in a break without super powers?

I always bring my work with me and end up not doing anything at all. Unless I'm visiting my father's family, then I write like mad to look busy so my younger cousins will stay away. It's actually good, because it gets me writing :)

Cheering you all on!
I got a laptop w/ last year's Christmas money/bonus. I always bring a notebook anyway (and, boy, do I get work done on the plane!), but now I have the option to type!

I dislike the hassle of travelling with my computer unless I absolutely need to but I always carry a notebook. Depending on the visit, sometimes I can get a lot written (like during NaNoWriMo this year), or else I can't put two words together and have to do something else. I also sculpt animals out of polymer clay so whenever my writing muse goes out to lunch I make stuff to keep my hands busy.
