I was wondering if anyone has experience selling movie/television rights as an indie author. I have been approached by a legitimate producer. Been exchanging emails for a while discussing interest and possibilities. Now it looks like things are getting serious and I’ve put in a call to an entertainment attorney.

Any advice? I have absolutely no idea what to expect.

To verify if they're real or not, ask for contracts. Then take said contract back to your IP/Entertainment attorney for a proper vetting. The attorney will doubtless make changes beneficial to you, as the original contract will be very one-sided. If the prodco disappears after you send your contract back (and they most often do), you're back to square one.
