You know what I'm talking about, those silly things you always do while writing and that you know you shouldn't but you do it anyway.

I have a bad tendency to make all my female characters at least slightly gay :D. That is, they all have bisexual leanings

Also, unisex names.

Another that mostly shows up when I'm drawing or designing but creeps into descriptions are characters wearing goggles, awesome boots and hoodies. :tongue

Also scars, light eyed brunettes, and a redheaded romantic interest.

Oh dear, that's more than I expected.

I've always found it hilarious that every writer has things that keep creeping in like Stephen King and Maine or J.K.Rowling and the verb ejaculate

Edit: I'm sorry, I think I have been making too many threads :D

Loosely paraphrased Metallica lyrics - they seem lucky somehow...I always sell those ones anyway. The lines are (usually) very generically done, but I know they are there.

Fucking up an MC's hand/arm. No idea why.

Sarcastic/cynical heroes (or else, noble types who have to struggle like buggery to stay noble).

A tendency to write about the struggle for personal freedom (whether from social expectations right through to pretty much slavery)

Grey eyes. Always gotta have a guy with grey eyes somewhere.

And no matter how I mean for my MC to turn out personality-wise, they always seem to get mouthy when they're scared or about to be beaten up.

Whoa - really? I love bears!

Me, hmm - anti-social, isolated MCs. And my characters are always finding themselves doing something - 'she found herself surrounded by flies'

I have a big problem with the word "some" and its use as a prefix.

Well, sometimes. In some situations. It's something I pay attention to in the editing phase, now that I've noticed some annoying occurrences of it, in some pieces. But somehow I just can't seem to eliminate it from some rough drafts.

My stuff is dark and twisty. My MC is either getting smacked around and tortured or someone else is. But the first step to fixing a problem is admitting you have one...

I discovered that most of my male MCs have some sort of daddy issue.

Women with red hair and green eyes. This is the only one I'm aware of, the only one that creeps in subconsciously.

My MC for my current novel is "auburn" hair and green eyes. I have to fight myself to not do the same thing.

Cannibalism. It concerns me. (That it turns up in my writing, not in society.)

Orphans show up a lot. I guess it's because I have to get rid of the parents for them to go on this big adventure. Medical issues like seizures or speech impediments show up and I have to have siblings working together on the adventure, whether it's two brothers or a brother and sister, but I actually don't do sister-sister pairs. *shrugs*

I wrote one novel and gave every female character red hair and green eyes. I didn't realize it until after the book sold, and the editor called asking if this was intentional.

Green eyes and hair, scars, and badass female characters. Combine them altogether and you've got... well. My female MCs.
