Novella/Novelette Recommendations

I searched and couldn't find a similar topic.

I need novelette and novella recommendations. I already know about classic lit novellas, and have a lot of them on my book shelf.

I'm looking for contemporary, science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, or something along those lines. Would prefer stand alone works.

Here are some (somewhat) contemps. Off the top of my head:

-Seize the Day by Saul Bellow (he has a few others, but this one's my fav)

-The Eye and The Enchanter by Nabokov

-Point Omega by Delillo

-Rhyming Life and Death by Amos Oz

-Miss Lonleyhearts by Nathaniel West

Cynthia Ozick tends to write very long stories. Any of her collections is worth checking out.

Philip Roth has a bunch of shorter works. Nemesis, Everyman, Prague Orgy, Ghost Writer, a few others.
