...but I am actually English, from Shropshire. We came out to Aus with my husband's job for 'just for a year' and we have now been here for five! This is the theme of my life...
Looking forward to getting back to my our barn in the shire with log burner, aga, and dogs in the kitchen. Yes..I am what is known as a "whinging Pom"
Just finished my first book "The Curse of Lecia" which is Y.A/crossover (I think). I am now going through the trauma of "sending it off". I hate this part...

I came to Sydney from the US in 1993 - never left. I love it here - though I haven't found anywhere in Australia I didn't love. But if you don't like it, I hope you get to return home soon.

And welcome to AW - I hope you find it more homey!

Thanks...

...for your welcome. everyone.
Tim290280...I would love to be in W.A...my best friend is there...in Freo.
Poetinahat, it's not that I don't like Aus...I think if we had come ten years ago when the kids were younger, we would have gone for PR and citizenship. It's a great place for families. However, my four(grown up) kids are all back in the UK, and I miss them, which sounds wussy, I know...

awww... :Hug2: I'll bet they miss you, too. We're about to leave ours (also grown-ups) and head to France for a year; the only thing I'll mind will be being away from them.

ETA: Ooops - I forgot to say Welcome To AW. Welcome to AW!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Lol I'd never be able to live anywhere in Australia except Victoria. I do like Sydney but couldn't stand being surrounded by rugby instead of AFL.

Welcome to AW. I migrated to Sydney on my own in 1964. I worked for a year in NT on a cattle station half the size of Wales. I then had 9 months in Darwen before getting a job in Papua New Guinea for 13 years. I then found Sydney too cold - I even complain of winter north of Brisbane when the temperature plumets below 20 degrees C. Brrrr.

And I'm at your stage at the moment for two books, a ya set in Scotland (I love Scotland!) and a middle school set in PNG. It's such a pain that they all want something different. This time I'm looking for an agent because I had quite a bit of success in Australia with my YA Historical Trilogy but I'm having problems with my Canadian publisher.

So, I empathise with your situation in query hell.

Best wishes

Mumut

Then you NEED to live in WA. Rugby is nowhere near as big here as AFL... I don't know where you've been getting your intel...
