The March prompt in Western is a mystery with the hope that a few people from AW might consider entering the Tony Hillerman contest (and that someone from AW might win). All the details are available in Western genre

http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237777

Hopefully some of you will try your hands at writing a story for the prompt and I also hope you'll stop by Western SYW to offer comments on the stories posted. Hope to see you there. Puma

Do any of you mystery writers have some advice on how to write a complete mystery in 2500 words? We Westerners from down below would love to have some suggestions - here or in the March prompt thread in western genre. Thanks a bunch! Puma

Sorry, Puma, I saw this the other day and forgot about it. Have you gotten any responses yet?

I've never tried a mystery in such short format. I'd think it'd be tough (doable, of course, but harder than a full length book). Perhaps a whydunnit or howdunnit rather than the traditional whodunnit?

We do have one mystery posted in Western SYW - The Tin Box. Love to have some mystery people take a look at it. There should be some others coming too. Puma
