Hi all my name is Michelle :)

I am currently attempting to write a book. I am doing OK at the moment and have set my deadline for the first draft. ( Hope i can stick to it)

Looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully gaining some hints/tips and advice.

Hi Michelle,

Welcome from another newbie!

Good luck with the first draft. I use a schedule too and find it really helps.

The schedule is always delay.
Welcome newcomer.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

:welcome:Welcome to Absolute Write!

This is a great place to network with writers! Check out The Newbie Guide To Absolute Write for more info on the site.

I just hosted a session for my local writing group on making progress in your novel from the start. The resources I referred to were:

Your First Novel by Rittenberg, Whitcomb
and
Chloe Neill's website (New Yourk Times bestselling author of the "Chicagoland Vampires" series), links regarding methods to putting together a book in a year: Part I (Brainstorming), Part II (Outlining), and Part III (Completing the Manuscript).

hope that helps!

Welcome!!

Divide the schedule into bite-sized portions. That way you can keep it under control.
This is a great forum, lots of helpful people on board... Enjoy.
