Hello everyone -

My screenplay opens with a V.O. - the main character is narrating. The VO is labeled with the main character's name.

The main character (narrator) is then introduced in the next scene.

So the way it's written now, when you read the opening of the screenplay, other than a character name, you'll have no idea who is narrating.

Is this OK?

Thanks -

it has been done many times... it really depends on the opening and the flow of the visual... a good director should be able to pull thru it...

This is no more of a problem than it is in the finished film -- when you simply hear a voice over at the beginning -- you don't know who it belongs to until the character actually appears on screen and you realized that the voice you've been hearing belongs to someone who's actually a character in the movie.

Same deal in the screenplay.
