Whilst conducting, ahem, "research" this evening I had a possibly great idea...
What if WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, indeed, almost all of our more modern wars, had actually been fought against zombies? The Somme, Verdun, Dunkirk, D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, Kursk, the island hopping campaign in the Pacific, the Chosun Reservoir, the Battle of the Ia Drang Valley, the Tet Offensives, Hue, etc., etc., they were all fought against zombie hordes.
I know that Harry Turtledove did something like this with aliens in his alternate histories, and then you've got WWZ, but I'm thinking this might have some feet to it.
Anyway, just thought I'd post a thread starter for this kind of thing. Let me know what you think of the idea. There's some potential for a "shared worlds" idea in it, I think, as well.
