Okay, forgive me if this should be in another forum or what have you.

MY NOVEL, HELL'S BELLES, HAS BEEN SOLD TO KENSINGTON! (And so have the next two--still unwritten--books in the series!)

Even though it's billed as a paranormal romance, in my heart this will always be a humorous urban fantasy.

This will be my first published novel.

WOOT!!! :hooray: :hooray: :hooray:

Congratulations! I'm sure you're very excited!

And I feel the same way about my WIP's. That they're more urban fantasy than paranormal romance but I'll market them whatever way gets them sold! =)

Thanks, Kasey! And man, I'd call the genre "broccoli" if that's what publishers wanted... :Jump:

If you don't mind my asking, how long did it take Kensington to decide to buy your book? And which line will it be in? I've had one of my books under consideration for their Strapless line for about four months. (agented submission)

Sak, this has been an utter whirlwind. My agent submitted to Kensington (main line) on 12/1. On 12/9, we got the offer, as a pre-empt. My head is still spinning.

I'm sure we'll blurb each other, Jax...

Of course, since neither one of us has a huge audience, yet, I don't know how useful that will be.

Besides, I may say something really inapporporiate on your book. You know: "This is the kind of book that makes me want to read my first novel, LXXX DXXXXX. Wow, my book is so awesome. You should buy that one, too."

Now that she's hit it big, she no longer cares for her number one fan.

I think I'm off to have a good cry now, maybe watch some of the DIVA for research on a story idea I've got crowding my tiny little brain.

Maybe...after I devour that pint of Ben and Jerry's...since I'm no longer known.

*sniff sniff*

Rabe...

dragonjax
02-04-2006, 06:20 AM
Hey, thanks Kevin and Grasshopper! (And Jenna!)

HELL'S BELLES is about a succubus on the run from Hell who hides out on the mortal coil as a stripper, and learns the hard way about love. It's billed as a paranormal romance, but I still think of it as a humorous urban fantasy with tingly sex scenes. It's the first of a projected five-book series (HELL ON EARTH), with possibilities of a few one-shot stories.

I'm really excited (duh) -- my editor (amazing man) had NO revisions for me, and I already saw the back cover copy. WOOT! So I'm in the blurbing process right now, and I'm waiting to see what the next step in the production process is. The book is scheduled for January 2007, so there's time for things like, oh, a web site. :)

Meanwhile, I'm working on the next book in the series, THE ROAD TO HELL.
