Hello, I am Daniel, a poet from Hungary. (But no, I am not hungry.) I want to write a novel, but I am a beginner at that, and I could really use some good advice. Unfortunately we don't have forums like this in my language (or any useful books on writing for that matter), so I figured I would join your forum. I hope it's not a problem :)

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hello, and welcome! I'm writing a novel that takes place primarily in 15th century Hungary. Never been to the country, but would love to someday.

Tepelus, that sounds very interesting, I would love to hear more about it. Why Hungary? Does it have to do something with Dracula? :) Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Dracula is not from Hungary.

The Dracula mythology is very much based in Romanian and Hungarian folklore, inlcuding Elizabeth Báthory on whom many aspects of the Drucula myth were based, and the fact that at the time Dracula was born Transylvania was ruled by Hungary. So actually, I guess Dracula would have been Hungarian.
