Hello,

My name is Fari and I'm new to AW. I did the forum thing for a while in the early 2000's and haven't posted on a forum since 2004. Now I am here. I came looking for betas and hopefully will find much more.

I live out of a commercial truck with my husband and we travel the US (and sometimes Canada) carrying freight for a company called Con-Way Truckload. That has been my biggest inspiration to write, seeing the country and how different everything is. My favorite state is Wyoming and my favorite geographic features are mountians.

I'm currently writing a series of Novellas called Among the Clouds and can't wat to hit the sharing forums.

50 posts. Don’t make a mad dash to reach your 50 posts. Take some time to greet fellow newbies,

Hello, and welcome! I used to drive a cargo van for expedite companies delivering freight for two years before panic attacks set in from me driving too much. I was by myself, so I didn't have a partner to share the driving burden or take over when I got too tired to drive. It was nice seeing the different parts of the country, but it sure was lonely. Made good money most of the time. I had to quit because the anxiety got so bad I couldn't even drive down the street without feeling as if I would pass out behind the wheel, and it took a few years before I got past it enough to drive any long distance again. Heck, for a time I had become agoraphobic, but that passed more quickly than the fear of driving. I'm mostly fine now, still get panicked once in a while, but I won't ever expedite again.

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Thank you both for the info and advice. I did read all the notes, info, and FAQs before I started posting and I hit the stickies too. I kind of like the 50+ requirement before I can start a SYW thread. I'll make certain to poke around the site. Thank you both for stoping by to greet a newb.

I'm so sorry to hear that, though I'm glad you got your mojo back. I definately understand the loneliness. My husband and I were seperated the first year he went out on the road. I was home while he was away. I wish you well. Thanks for the support.

Welcome aboard! I've done a lot of cross-country travel as well over the years. Usually by myself. But it can be fun to see different parts of the country. Wyoming was one of my favorites too. Look forward to seeing your writing on the forums!
