It was a dark and stormy night...
Oh wait! That's someone else's story :snoopy:
[I always wanted to write that.]

So, here I am! The one and only! The man! The myth! The legend! :thankyou:

That's right, I'm funny, smart, good looking, and sexy too. (And I know how to use serial commas.)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I'm also humble... very humble. :)

###

When I was young my ambition was to be a member of The Guild and publish speculative fiction like the greats that opened my eyes to speculative fiction, EE "Doc" Smith, Robert A. Heinlein, Arthur C. Clark, Issac Asimov, Fritz... well, I could go on, but if you recognize those names you can fill in others.

My conversations with Bob Asprin, C.J. Cherryh, Larry Niven, and others at various conventions convinced me that they were regular people who had success as writers and that I could too.

Then life got in the way.

But now that I have had a fire lit under me by my friend and the old creative juices are flowing again, I'm ready to join the ranks of the masters, to take my place at the round tables, to blaze my trail to glory, or at least to have some fun writing a good yarn or two.

###

My current project is the story of an ordinary half-breed boy who grows up to be an extraordinary man, a leader of men, and a new-fangled wizard in our modern world. It has humor, romance, and adventure. It is the story of how he comes into his own and must finally give up all he loves in order to keep them safe.

And that's only book 1.

I guess I've waxed the elephant enough for now. But I do want you to know that I am looking forward to getting to know you, my fellow writers, in the days to come.

###

One last thing, if you speak Gaeilge, American Irish, or Irish Gaelic ;) and wouldn't mind helping make sure I don't slaughter your language please contact me. The half-breed is half Irish and half Ohdehlun and my dear sweet partner has assured me that a choice phrase or two in Irish would add nicely to the tale.

Welcome! :) Glad to have you.

You taught me a new vocabulary word - renascence.

50 posts. Don’t make a mad dash to reach your 50 posts. Take some time to greet fellow newbies,
critique other members’ works, or join a discussion.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.
