They're only good for four countries, none of which I've been to in years, so no. That's what most of those types of sites are like - no good for countries outside of the west.

I've been addicted to Yelp.com and Chow.com for a while, as a reader -- especially when I'm traveling. But urbanspoon just sort of . . . I guess I sort of bounce off of them.

I've recently started posting Yelp reviews, and I have a bad feeling about the potential addictiveness of that particular pastime.

Mac, I just now noticed where you are. I have relatives in and around there. Made a trip to visit about 5 years ago, and thought it was a neat little area. I stayed at the hotel there on the marina (forget the name...)

You're right about the addictiveness of it. I started when I was home sick one weekend, and just kept going! I have now been invited to become an "Elite" member, whatever that means.

I only really use their phone app - it is super handy when you're hungry, but can't quite pin down what you're in the mood for. That I have the freedom to have that situation is a gift it reminds me of whenever I use it. I rarely post reviews - only when something closes, if I remember to.

I visit Urban Spoon frequently. Unfortunately, I never heed any advice on there. My fiance and I were going to a Chinese buffet, and three reviews said do not get the crab legs. I got the crab legs. What followed was one of the most foul and disgusting tastes I've ever had in my mouth.
