Just wondering if anyone knows of magazines or publishers that
accept suspense novellas with romantic elements. (15,000 - 30,000 words). I'm aware of the big e-publishers like Carina/Samhain, as well as a range of smaller e-pubs but most of them seem to focus on romance whereas my stories are more suspense.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't comment on how good any of these mags/publishers are, but if you head over to duotrope and search under the genre 'Suspense/Thriller' and length 'Novella' you get a few results :)

Thanks! I've been coming to this forum for ages but strangely this is the first time I've actually heard of duotrope.

AHMM and EQMM have published some of my long short stories. I guess they were actually novellas. (Though in a lot of categories they are just considered short fiction.)

Edit add: I just looked over the lengths of my stories and several were in the 17K to 20K length, and the longest was 23K. (That's equal to three or more stories of 'typical' short story length.) Anyhow, I like the longer ones as I get the bigger check.

Try those two magazines. They publish mystery and suspense and pay pro-rates.

Thanks! I will definitely look into both of these.
