The movie "Chronicle"

Is the movie Chronicle based on a book? And if it is what is the title. I couldn't find anything except the movie on IMDB and it didn't say if it was based on a book or short story or if it was original.

There are several IMDB entries with that title. Do you mean this one?

If so, then I can't find any indication that it's adapted from an existing work in another medium. A specific work, that is; but the movie sounds about as derivative as it could possibly be. (Might still be good, of course.)

I don't think it is adapted from anything. However I will say that when I first saw the preview I almost broke my computer as from the trailer is looks disturbingly similar to one of the first books I wrote, currently trunked.

that is the one manuel. My husband thought he heard of it before and yeah it does look derivative.
