I was thinking they could turn it into a series like for basic cable or maybe even AMC or HBO, that way you could capture the real grit of war and from different stories that occurred during that time because according to the comics, it wasn't just from his standpoint but different soldiers he encountered and their stories as well. Remember it spans from 1966-1972, so that way he can serve his first tour from 1966-1967, then his unit gets merged with another unit at the end of that year I believe and that's when the turmoil really begins. 1968 was a hot year for not just the war but like in the comics, back home was in an uproar. Also, he went through some real life events, it's just that they put it in a historical context so they won't get heat from people. If that was adapted, that could work.

Another interesting TV Series adaptation would be Batman, this time strictly based of the comics. It would follow some context off of Christopher Nolan's series, having villains that were realistic like the Joker and Ra's al Ghul, but this series would have villains never used in either the Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, or Christopher Nolan Universe. What do you think?

I found that the old TV show Tour of Duty was very similar to The 'Nam in many ways. After Ed Marks left they followed his platoon as people joined and left. The TV show did very much the same thing. However since it was on network TV it was nowhere as gritty as any show could be on HBO.
That's what I mean. If it could be sold to either AMC, HBO, or FX, than it would be worth the watch because of less stringent rules pertaining to ratings. You make a great point though. Thanks for your input.

I need to read these. Did they ever come out all as one book, or am I stuck buying a series of comic books?

Would The 'Nam stand better as a live action film though, mainly because that's what Marvel has been marketing or could they dabble into the television realm?
Also is there an alternate nickname for the comic book series, so that way the title doesn't just give away the series? It could be a film basically based of the comic book series, just a different title is all I'm seeking for. Any takers?
The problem is the comic was more an attempt to express to the classic film war narrative in comic form, than represent the real events. Reconstructing the genre conventions exploder in the comic into their original film form seems a little redundant.
