Is anyone else having this? Every time I go to a page on AW I get this box at the top of the screen telling me to log in to something. I click 'cancel' and it allows me to navigate without any further hassle but I have to cancel it at every page. I'm not logging into it without knowing what it is!

This is a screenshot of the thing.

I'm not getting that.

I'm guessing that the people who figure this sort of thing out will probably want to know what internet browser you're using and what version, and whether your computer is set to accept or reject cookies.

Maryn, who'll keep you company while we wait for a knowledgeable answer

I've asked Medievalist for help.

Usually this would indicate some sort of malware on your computer, but maybe not in this case. This might be related to the question about rep boxes (which is right below this thread).

You could try logging out of AW and clearing your cookies and cache and then logging back in to see if the problem continues.

You've picked up some malware.

I suspect it's the fairly innocuous sort that lurks in your browser cache.

It's not something from us or that we've done.

Please do all of these, in this order:

Log off AW using the log out link on the top right corner (Make sure you know your AW password and ID)
Clear your cache
Quit your browser; close all windows and Quit the browser completely
Restart your browser
If you're still seeing that, you'll need to actively search for malware using Malware Bytes and the like.

Hi, apparently this is something to do with affiliate links, some sort of site that piggybacks onto in-site advertising and can cause trouble. I found a wee discussion on it here http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/whats-up-with-these-viglinks-on-my-blog?replies=14

Did some tweaking and have got rid of it. But it doesn't seem to be malware.

Also, my apologies for bothering the site about this. Should've googled first. Hope I haven't caused too much inconvenience. Just had a panic. :(
