Tabs / indent question on MS Word 2010

I'm trying to format a MS to a specific magazine's guidelines, but they have stated that they don't want any tabs anywhere in the text, but paragraphs should be indented .25 inches using a 'stylesheet command'.

First off, I have no idea what a stylesheet command is, how do I bring that up? Or does anyone know how I can get the paragraphs to indent like a tab on MS Word 2010? I've tried all the commands I can find or think of but it doesn't just indent the first line, but rather the whole block of the paragraph.

I'm fairly technical and quite good usually when it comes to MS Office but this has me stumped. Any help greatly appreciated.

Oh. This is an easy fix. First, highlight your entire document with select all.

Then go press the little arrow on the home ribbon under Paragraph. A box should come up.

Then go under indentation. There should be an area that says special. Drop down that box and press first line. The box next to it is how far to indent. Default is .5. You can go in and type .25.

When you're done, press ok, and it will format the entire document just like the guidelines.

Ah, I saw the drop down box but didn't think to look at it! Thank you so much, will get it sorted when I get home from work. I used to be really up on all the commands for Word but 2010 baffles me a bit, I must admit.

No problem. 2010 is just like 2007 really. My sister has it and though some of the aesthetics are different, it pretty much works the same. You have to play around with it some.
