Does anyone know of these books ...

In the early to mid 1980s, when I was in elementary school, I remember LOVING a series of books featuring a kid who lived in Connecticut perhaps (remember New England coastal setting) ... he was fairly serious, and had an extra-sensory perception nack for solving crimes.

I definitely remember the ESP aspect ... that was what drew me to the books to begin with.

I am thinking there were 5-8 books total?? And it was geared for kids roughly aged 8-12. Guessing around 100 page books???

I'm not into this genre for writing, so I haven't a clue where to begin looking for these books.

Thinking ... I want to say the kid's last name was McGee or something very similar.

Does this ring a bell for anyone ????

Funny, out of frustration, I took another stab at google after posting and I think I'm finding it ... why the two hours I spent trolling google before didn't yield anything was beyond me.

I may just spend the money and scoop up as many as I can. I don't know why I've been thinking about them nearly 30 years later ... hmmmmmmmmmmmm =)
