Looking to swap with someone for beta reading on my steampunk fantasy. I prefer to swap for fantasy of any sort, YA included. PM me if you're interested!
Here's a brief synopsis of the story:
After a job went bad with the Morlock Brigade, the crew of the Desire needs a big payoff to keep their airship in the skies. Bea, the First Mate, embarks on a smuggling mission for a box locked away on a British Government ship. Bea doesn’t mind danger, in fact, she revels in it, but when this mission places the ship in direct enemy fire, the crew gets a bit uncomfortable. Not Bea. The Captain swears by his old military mantras from way back when and would never lead them astray.
But when a crew member goes rogue, he doesn’t just steal their cargo, he murders the Captain. Her Captain. Bea takes over the position, even though she never wanted it. Her next step: take down the traitor and get their cargo back.
Their employer, the British Government and the Morlocks stand in the way. With enemies besieging them at every step, the crew needs strong leadership if they’re going to stay in the skies. Down one of their strongest recon mans, running low on funds and still repairing the Desire from their last fight, they’ve never been in a worse position. The Captain taught her to stay proud and keep fighting, but without his guidance and constant presence, Bea doesn’t know if she has the ability to keep the crew safe. And with all the enemies after them, she’s running out of time to learn.
