My Microwave Just Died; Need Recomendations

My microwave just died, three days after I bought a toaster/convection oven. If the microwave would have been considerate enough to die a little earlier I could have consolidated two bulky appliances and gotten a combo Microwave/convection oven. (I also bought a nice new range hood less than 2 months ago which will now be useless, grrrr.)


I want to go with an over-the-range model to save space. I have one in the house we're renting in NV that I love but I'm in Maryland, and DH is on his way home so he can't tell me what model it is. I never thought I'd like an over-the-range microwave but this one's really nice.

Any suggestions/recomendations from people who love their over-the-range microwave?

Do you know what brand the one in NV is? You could look on Amazon and search by brand. You could probably tell which is which, or which is the updated model if they've replaced that model.

No, I have no idea. Didn't pay attention to it. But it's nice and big, has lots of features including a warming mode and the defrost also has a sensor. The fan has three settings.

Maybe I could call my landlady. She's in Las Vegas which is four hours away, so it's not like she can run over and check, but she might know since she's the one who bought it.

Rats. Landlady doesn't know. All the paperwork/warrenty info is at the house in Ely, NV.

Guess I'll have to scour the net for reviews which may take take a couple of days with my dialup.

I HATE dialup. Sigh.

Thanks CactusWendy! I'm going to have hubby check/replace the fuse. Glad I didn't order that new one, yet.

I'm now looking at under-the-counter models. The over the range kind would mean I'd have to remove cabinets over the range and I can't give up the space.

I found a GE SpaceMAker that seems to fit the bill, but once again, my dialup hasn't been co-operating and I've been unable to order it. Might have to try and find one in a brick and mortor store.

I'll look at halogen ovens as well. Thanks for the tip.
