Some of those sound AMAZING. I want to try the Apple-Ale Wassail and the Gingerbread Martini. Yum!

Since moving to a colder climate and enjoying more snow, I've gotten way more into winter drinks AND eggnog. My biggest revelation? Real nutmeg grated on top of the nog. The lame storebought crap doesn't even BEGIN to compare to the real stuff. If you haven't done this, try to see if you can find some!

Here in Canada, I found nutmeg pods at Bulk Barn.

Egg nog is my nominee for the most diabolically vile beverage ever invented by Homo sapiens. Beyond that, I'll just take a wee dram of Talisker or Laphroiag, neat or with a piece of ice. A great comfort to help me get past the GODDAM ENDLESS SNOW that is falling tonight and predicted to continue for the next four days.

That's just because you haven't tried soy milk egg nogg. Yum! (Edit: By 'yum' I mean 'bleargh.')

I don't know if it's strictly a holiday beverage, but a couple of weeks ago I had a--no kidding--lemon / basil martini. I ordered it on a "I'll try anything once" basis but, weirdly, it was pretty darn good.

My husband's boss had his work Xmas party at Tom Goodchild's Moose Factory the other night (affiliated to The Sawmill for you Canadian folk).

They had a lime something or other. Lime Majestic, that's it! Like a gin and tonic only with lime slush in it. Yummay! Too bad I was driving. I coulda had about 16 more of those. :Jump:

i was at a wedding over the summer where they had a large, never-ending, carafe of basil lemonade (with vodka).

i was suprised at how good the lemon / basil team was (in a drink).
