Hello all,

I was wondering if there was a blog, a website, a ...something... that compiled author book tours in the fantasy / sci-fi genre. I have been craving book readings lately, and as wonderfully diverting as checking all of my favorite author's website and / or journals for a list of their planned appearances is, I am hoping there is a more comprehensive list available.

I apologize if there is already a thread for this. My 3:00 AM research skills are perhaps not as sharp as might be wished.

You may be better off looking at venues for readings in your local area and checking out community pages for events.

Good luck.

Like Debbie said--check out your local Barnes & Noble and see what they have on their calendar of events. Most major cities have book clubs or something somewhere online, too, that will list local readings and signings.

Thank you both. There are definitely some local bookstores in Berkeley (Other Change of Hobbit and Dark Carnival, anyone?) and the rest of the Bay Area, and I'll check them out. Please do let me know if you hear of any more comprehensive lists, too.

You might also want to see what authors are in your general area and do some stalking. Once a new book is out, they will generally ramp up readings in the local area. Also see if they have done a reading online for new publications.

Also if there are any cons, check them out too. Readings are gaining popularity especially with small press.

Good thought, Shadowflame. I know there are quite a few authors in Bay Area (though I think Minnesota and Maine have it beat). I will have to track them down -- politely, of course!

Smiling Ted, your icon is very unsettling (in a good way). I appreciate the link. I didn't manage to find a section specifically for readings, but a search for that term turned up a few bookstores, including City Lights, which host a lot of readings.
