It's not a bad one, IMHO. It breaks down editing, copy-editing, and proofreading stages for those not in the know and gives a little taster as to what you can look for with each stage.

yes. And i think there are a lot of folks who don't understand what real revision/editing is. This, like i said, won't work for everyone, but at least gives some definition to the stages involved in revision and seemed a suitable resource article for the basic writing questions forum. :)

Thanks for the share! I'm always looking for new, fresh viewpoints and strategies on revising/rewriting.

The day I tell people that I "know it all" already, is the day someone can take me out back and put me out of my misery. :)

As someone who is neck-deep in some pretty extensive rewriting, I found this a good way to get back on track on a few things.

I think what I find difficult is putting on my "editor" hat at times. It usually requires some distance in time between project and final "editorial" revision.

As someone who's planning on rewriting my current WIP (once it's finished), this is a helpful and succinct article, thank you! And yes, I'm definitely not looking forward to rewriting the entire MS but at this stage in my writing goals, it's an option I have to try at least once.
